Στις 18 Δεκεμβρίου 2024, παρουσίασα στο ξενοδοχείο ΗΛΕΚΤΡΑ ΠΑΛΑΣ μελέτη για τη φορολογική επιβάρυνση του ξενοδοχειακού τομέα, στην οποία ήμουν Επιστημονικά Υπεύθυνος. Η μελέτη εκπονήθηκε από το ΙΤΕΠ και το Πάντειο Πανεπιστήμιο, εστιάζοντας τόσο στην εκτίμηση της φορολογικής επιβάρυνσης των ξενοδοχείων όσο και στη σύγκριση με άλλους τομείς της ελληνικής οικονομίας.

This paper analyzes the intersectoral linkages of Greece’s tourism sector using an extended version of the hypothetical extraction method and 2015 input-output data. It finds that tourism acts more as an input supplier than a buyer, indicating that broader economic growth is needed to stimulate tourism rather than relying on tourism to drive growth.

This paper evaluates the effects of a «green» employer of last resort (ELR) program in the US, using an extended multiplier framework. It finds that an optimal ELR can enhance output and employment while reducing imports and carbon emissions. However, achieving ecological goals may compromise overall effectiveness.

The 2023 report from the Greek National Productivity Board indicates a recovery from COVID-19, with productivity rising. While growth is expected, concerns exist regarding reliance on certain sectors and external challenges like inflation and geopolitical instability. Recommendations include boosting digital transformation and reducing inequalities to enhance productivity sustainably.

The Greek economy shows signs of recovery post-pandemic, with notable productivity increases despite challenges from the Ukraine war and inflation. Key sectors such as tourism and transport have improved significantly. To sustain growth, Greece must address issues like a weak production base and enhance R&D, investment, and digitalisation efforts.

The paper presents a model estimating how costs contribute to energy prices in Greece. Findings reveal that profits, particularly in the energy sector, and imports predominantly influence prices. Recommendations suggest implementing policies to curb energy sector profits and promote domestic production to mitigate energy costs.

Στην Ετήσια Γενική Συνέλευση της Ένωσης Ξενοδόχων Αθηνών-Αττικής-Αργοσαρωνικού παρουσιάστηκε η μελέτη του ΙΤΕΠ για τη φέρουσα ικανότητα τουριστικής ανάπτυξης στην Αθήνα. Εξετάζεται η ανάγκη λήψης πολιτικών μέτρων για τη βιωσιμότητα της τουριστικής ανάπτυξης στην περιοχή.

Το Τμήμα Δημόσιας Διοίκησης του Παντείου Πανεπιστημίου διοργανώνει την Πέμπτη 10 και την Παρασκευή 11 Νοεμβρίου 2022 στην αίθουσα Σάκη Καράγιωργα ΙΙ του Παντείου Πανεπιστημίου Συνέδριο με τίτλο «Η ∆ηµόσια ∆ιοίκηση Σήµερα: Προκλήσεις και Προοπτικές».

Το Συνέδριο πραγματεύεται οκτώ θεματικές ενότητες:

Χαιρετισμό θα απευθύνουν η Πρύτανις του Παντείου Πανεπιστημίου, Καθηγήτρια Χριστίνα Κουλούρη, ο Κοσμήτωρ της Σχολής Επιστηµών Οικονοµίας και ∆ηµόσιας ∆ιοίκησης, Καθηγητής Θεοδόσιος Παλάσκας, και ο Πρόεδρος του Τμήματος Δημόσιας Διοίκησης, Αναπληρωτής Καθηγητής Αντώνιος Χάνος. Η κεντρική ομιλία θα δοθεί από την Πρόεδρο ΕΚ∆∆Α, Δρ Παρασκευή Δραμαλιώτη.

Using a multisectoral model and data from the supply and use tables, this article estimates the exchange-rate pass-through to the domestic price level of the Turkish economy. The results indicate that a unit change in the exchange rate leads to 0.61 units of change in the overall price level. This effect comes out mostly through the industry, and the primary sector; while in terms of products, the energy sector is the major actor for the changes in the domestic price level.
